    Singing Therapy is not about singing songs, although a singers’ performance can transform. It’s about allowing your voice to
    become free. When your voice becomes free, your mind relaxes, your suppressed emotions start to thaw, and your spirit has
    a direct vehicle for expression.

    The perfect holiday for singers!

    Become a part of a choir in the scenic countryside of Northumberland in the north of England.
    You will learn beautiful music and sing in ancient locations as we travel around this majestic part of the country.   Some of the
    locations will be:

    Sing in Northumberland
    Sing in Bamburgh Castle
    Sing at Alnwick Castle
    Sing at Hadrian's Wall and Housesteads Roman Fort

    Musical Director
    JoAnne is an experienced and highly skilled conductor. She has been conducting successful choirs for many years.
    In 1987 JoAnne Connaughton became the first female Director of Music in an English Cathedral.

    Repertoire
    The repertoire will vary according to whether you choose to come for a week of easy music or a week of more complex
    music.
    The weeks are labeled for level of difficulty of the repertoire. Please check with us the dates for more information.    All the
    music will be unaccompanied so that we are able to sing anywhere at anytime.   The music will encompass a wide range of
    styles including early music of the Renaissance, English folk music, music from Northumberland, choral classics, and some
    contemporary music.
    You are also invited to submit an unaccompanied folk song from your country for consideration. Each week we will try to
    include one or two in the repertoire.
    Once you book your trip you will receive a set of music and a compact disc containing recordings of your part. This will help
    you to practice the music before you come. Included in the price of your week of singing and sight-seeing, you will receive
    two polo shirts and a sweatshirt sporting the tour logo.    Tour ties and caps will also be available to purchase as souvenirs of
    your tour.

    The price
    The price of your all-inclusive singing week will be approximately USD 1,725.
    You will be greeted at Newcastle airport on Saturday afternoon and taken to Longhirst Hall.
    Your single room accommodation, all meals, choir sessions, choir outfits, and trips to places of interest are included in the
    price of your trip.

    Extras
    Cell Phones
    You can rent a cellular phone for USD 45 which will allow you to make calls to the US or Canada for 11 pence per minute (.
    20c approximately) and receive calls at no extra charge (at present rates). A USD 90 deposit will be required for the phone.
    There are no telephones in the rooms.

    Private Tuition
    For an additional fee you can book a private lesson in singing or conducting with the director. These will be booked on a first
    come first served basis. Spaces are limited so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
