Savanna & Spice A two week overland journey visiting numerous national parks and areas abundant in bird- and wild- life (inc. the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater). It's then south and east to the coast for some time on the beautifulbeaches of Zanzibar. Summary Day 1 Nairobi to Naivasha From Nairobi we head straight for Naivasha and visit the spiritual resting place of Joy Adamson on the shores of Lake Naivasha with its plentiful bird life. Day 2 Lake Naivasha, Elsamere Spend the day on Lake Naivasha or visit Hells Gate National Park. Day 3 Nakuru National Park We explore the Nakuru National park, giving you a very good chance of seeing leopard or rhino. Day 4 Game drive in Nakuru National Park Game drive in Nakuru National Park. Day 5 Lake Victoria Crossing the border into Tanzania we camp near or on the shores of Lake Victoria. Day 6 Serengeti National Park We make our way to the Serengeti National Park, where we stay one night and go for afternoon and morning game drives. Day 7 Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater Leaving the Serengeti around noon, we drive up the escarpment to the lush vegetation of the Ngorongoro Crater, spending the night on the rim. Day 8 A day in the Ngorongoro Crater Next day we do an all-day game drive in 4x4 vehicles into the crater itself, having lunch at the hippo pools. Day 9: Arusha & Masai tribal village We then drive to Arusha where you can go shopping at the curio markets. Day 10 Arrive in Dar-es-Salaam From there it is on to Dar-es-Salaam. Along the way we may have stunning views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Arriving in Dar we camp on a beach out of town and ready ourselves for the trip over to the island of Zanzibar. Day 11 Zanzibar ferry & accommodation expenses (£10/night pp) On Zanzibar you have 4 days/3 nights to explore the island and its many secrets. Day 12 Zanzibar Explore the island at your leisure. Day 13 Zanzibar Explore the island at your leisure. Day 14 Back to Dar-es-Salaam We catch the lunchtime/afternoon ferry back to the mainland. The tour finishes that afternoon in Dar-es-Salaam. Tour price includes: All highlights, all ground transport, all road tolls and vehicle taxes, camping and cooking equipment and services of 3 crew.
