Upper and lower Nile This Upper & Lower Nile trip shows you not only the famous Pharaoh sites of Luxor and Aswan, but also gives you the opportunity to visit the Pyramids near Cairo and the Egypt museum. The museum houses amongst many other antiquities the unbelievably beautiful treasures of Tutankhamen’s tomb, which for many people is the highlight of their trip to Cairo. You will visit the Upper Nile on board the 5+ star MS Amarco, enjoying Aswan and Luxor in total comfort and style. The MS Amarco The 5* MS Amarco was built in 2002 and has been in operation on the Nile since September 2003. It is a small (48 cabins) yet luxurious cruise liner which provides and intimate atmosphere for guests. Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom with hair dryer and is fully air conditioned. There is also a full color TV with satellite channels and DVD player. All modern conveniences are available to travelers including Internet access, video and DVD access and international cuisine. The boat has two swimming pools and a steam room, jeweler, boutique and beauty salon. There is also a mini- gymnasium with a massage service. The MS Amarco has 4 cabins for handicapped travelers and non smoking rooms are also available on request. Itinerary Day 1: Arrival at Cairo Airport. Visa, immigration and customs procedures with assistance from our representative. Transfer to hotel. Day 2: Breakfast in Cairo. Excursion to the Egyptian Museum and Citadel of Saladin with the Alabaster Mosque. In the afternoon, continue sightseeing to the Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Kephren and Mycerinos), the Sphinx and the valley temple of Kephren. Overnight hotel in Cairo. Day 3: Breakfast in Cairo. Transfer to Cairo Airport for domestic flight to Abu Simbel via Aswan. Arrival and visit the temples of Abu Simbel and check-in at hotel. At night, attend the Sound and Light show at Abu Simbel Temples. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Aswan. Day 4: Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Abu Simbel airport for flight to Aswan. Arrival and visit the Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk. Transfer to the cruise ship. Embarkation and lunch on board. In the evening felucca ride on the Nile to admire a panorama of the Aga Khan Mausoleum and the Botanical Garden. Dinner. Overnight on board. Day 5: Sail to Kom Ombo and visit the temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris. Sail to Edfu and visit the temple of the falcon god Horus. Continue to sail towards Luxor after passing through Esna Lock. Full board and overnight on board. Day 6: Arrival to Luxor. Visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor. In the afternoon, visit the Necropolis of Thebes: Valley of Kings, Temple of Medinet Habu and Colossi of Memnon. Overnight on board in Luxor. Full board. Day 7: Transfer to the airport for flight to Cairo. Arrival and transfer to hotel. Day 8: Breakfast in Cairo. Transfer to Cairo Airport. Departure to home destination or take the camel safari extension from Cairo.
