Female Egyptologist. They will meet you after you cross the security officers at the end of a wide corridor just after you pass the duty free
shops.
She will then take your passport to obtain a visa on arrival stamp ( fee – from USD 25 to USD 100 depending on nationality – is not included in
the tour price ) from the cashier / bank window and escort you to speak with the passport officer.
She will escort you through another last check on your passport as you exit the passport control, into customs area, and she will assist you in
collecting your luggage and clearing customs.
After exiting the terminal, your Private Female Egyptologist will escort you along with your Private Chauffeur and drive you to your selected
Five Stars Hotel ( Five Stars Hotel details will be provided after final booking and depending on availability ).
Our Egyptologist will brief you about how the following days will develop and will answer any question you may have regarding the tour.
Then you will be checked in a single/double ( depending on you coming alone or in a group ) type suite.
The room includes
• Luxury accommodation in a superior room
• A refreshing drink on arrival
• Daily breakfast at restaurant
• Fresh flowers and fruits daily
• Complimentary use of hotel facilities
It would be the perfect place to begin your explorations of Cairo.
Rest up before dinner and after come to celebrate our first night together with a special Welcome Dinner at a restaurant with communal tables.
Our Egyptologist will share table and companions with you.
After that you will be driven back to the Hotel and will have a free evening & overnight.
Having a Private Female Egyptologist and a Private Chauffeur is wonderful thing, no matter how much you have learned from reading travel
books or browsing through Internet before your arrival.
In your case you will have a female Ph.D. Egyptologist.
It’s really nice to have the intimacy of an intelligent and cultured female guide that would make you feel accompanied and culturally stimulated all
time. This way you can talk to her either about ancient Egypt or about feminine issues as makeup, jewelry, marriage, family life, local cooking,
etc. Our female Ph.D. Egyptologist would also enjoy the opportunity to talk with a foreign woman and find out about costumes from outside
Egypt. Both of you would get something positive from each other.
( Welcome Dinner )
Day Two – Cairo
After breakfast, your Private Egyptologist and your Private Chauffeur will pick you up to commence the tour.
You'll be driven to Giza to visit the ancient great Pyramids. The tour includes the Great Pyramid, Royal Burial Chamber, Valley Temple and
the Sphinx.
The Great Pyramids of Giza, dating back to 2500 BC are some of the most famous man-made objects in the world. While there are actually
over one hundred Pyramids in Egypt, including at least eight more at Giza, the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) is the only "Wonder of the
Ancient World" that still survives.
Many Egyptologists have somewhat different views on exactly why the ancient Egyptian kings built Pyramids as their tombs, but all of them
seem to agree that it had to do with their worship of the sun god, Re (Ra). Most believe that the Pyramid was symbolic of the Benben, a mound
that rose from the waters during the creation of the earth, in ancient Egyptian mythology, which was closely associated with Re as the creator
god. During your time at The Great Pyramids of Giza, there is no escaping the mysterious Sphinx, a symbol which has come to represent the
essence of Egypt for thousands of years. With the body of a lion and the head of a king, there is as much mystery surrounding who built it as
there is determining why it was built.
Then visit the Solar Boat, one of the most amazing Pharaonic discoveries. Continue to Memphis, capital of the Pharaohs during the Old
Kingdom. Visit the recumbent statue of Ramesses II and the 80-ton Alabaster Sphinx.
Lunch en route at female-friendly restaurant.
Continue to Saqqara to see the prototype of the Pyramids, the Step Pyramid, built for the 3rd Dynasty Pharaoh Djoser by the exalted architect
Imhotep.
Return to Cairo and visit the Papyrus Institute on the way to your Five Stars Hotel for overnight.
( Breakfast and Lunch Included )
Day Three – Cairo
After breakfast at the Hotel Restaurant, your Egyptologist and your Private Chauffeur will pick you up at your hotel for a visit to the Pyramid of
Dahsohur. King Senefru, father of King Cheops, built this Pyramid, also known as the Red Pyramid, approximately 4,600 years ago.
Many scholars consider it to be more glorious than the Great Pyramid of Cheops. After the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, the Red Pyramid
at Dahsohur has the largest base (only slightly smaller then Khufu's pyramid, each side measures 722 feet) of any pyramid in Egypt.
However, with it's sides sloping at 43 degrees 22', it is substantially shorter at 343 feet (104 meters). It is the fourth highest pyramid ever built
in Egypt, with almost 160 layers of stone.
Significantly, the Red Pyramid was the first successful, true, cased Pyramid built in Egypt, ushering in the era of the Giza style pyramids.
Built by Khufu's father, Senefru, what really makes this pyramid special today is the lack of crowds and circus atmosphere that plagues the
Giza Plateau, along with the fact that it can currently be entered without limitation. Not long ago, the area of Dahsohur could not be visited,
which probably explains why such an important monument receives so few visitors. However, it is only a short drive from Saqqara, and only
a brief drive from Cairo. Lunch en route at typical restaurant.
Rest up before dinner and enjoy a traditional dinner with an Egyptian family, and learn about present day life in Cairo. Our Egyptologist will
share the evening with you and introduce you the different members of the family. You will fall in love with the vibrant country costumes the
very moment your feet touch the entrance of an Egyptian family home…
You will prepare the evening meal working alongside the family women for an evening of fun and a very special dining experience and you will
have the opportunity to learn about present day life in Cairo.
After dinner you will be driven back to the Hotel for overnight.
( Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included )
Day Four – Cairo
After breakfast at the Hotel Restaurant, your Egyptologist and your Private Chauffeur will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to the
treasure-filled Egyptian Museum of Antiquities for a detailed, private guided tour.
Among other fascinating exhibits, see the treasures of the Tomb of Tutankhamen and the extraordinary Mummies Room. Over ten mummies,
including that of Ramesses II, are displayed in freestanding glass cases in this climate-controlled room. Walk around the mummies and
examine them from all angles, gaze into their incredibly well preserved 3000-year-old faces.
Leave the museum and, after lunch at El Pacha Restaurant, you will explore Old Cairo: first a Roman fort, then the Jewish Quarter, then the
Coptic Christian Quarter. You'll visit the Coptic churches of Abu Serghius and Al Molaka, the Coptic Museum, and Ben Ezra synagogue.
Finally, you'd wander through the alleys of Khan el-Khalili bazaar in search of magic carpets and other traditional souvenirs.
Rest up before attending a local concert or the Opera. You will find there very few tourists and because Egyptians are so friendly, many will
come up during intermission to talk and even introduce you to their family.
Nearby, at the Opera House Grounds, the Hanagar Arts Center and the Cairo Opera Gallery have interesting exhibits making it worthwhile to
head out for your night at the opera a bit early.
After attending the Opera you will be driven back to the Hotel for overnight.
( Breakfast Included )
Day Five – Nile Cruise ( Aswan )
It’s time to meet other travelers from all over the world and exchange experiences in an idyllic ambiance.
You will be transferred to Cairo airport by your Private Chauffeur for your very early flight to Aswan.
In Aswan, connect to your flight to Abu Simbel. Visit the awesome twin temples of Ramesses II and his queen Nefertari with their facades of
colossal statues.
In the early 1960's, by a prodigious feat of engineering and international cooperation, the entire temple complex was dismantled stone by stone
and reassembled 90 feet above its original site in order to save it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
Fly back to Aswan.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Five Stars Nile Cruiser for lunch.
This is the idyllic way to discover the rich history along the Nile. Our scheduled deluxe cruiser offers the elegance of an old world voyage.
The Five Stars Nile Cruiser offers guests a cruise on the Nile along the landmarks of an ancient civilization. The journey begins in Aswan and
courses through Pharaonic dynasties that span thousands of years.
Excellent recreational and dining facilities make the journey pleasurable. Impeccable service and a beautiful setting come together to make this a
voyage of discovery.
In the afternoon, sail around Elephantine Island on a felucca, the traditional Egyptian sail boat. Elephantine Island is the largest of the Aswan
area islands, and is the site of some of the most ancient remains in Egypt, with artifacts dating to pre-dynastic periods. Elephantine is Greek for
Elephant. In ancient times, the island was called Abu or Yabu, which also means elephant. The name may indicate that the island was once a
center for the trade of ivory.
Continue sailing around Kitchner Island (also known as Lord Kitchner's Botanical Garden, Plant Island, Gizirat al-Nabatat, Plantation Island, or
Gizirat al-Bustan). Lord Kitchner moved there after being given the island for his campaigns in the Sudan. He imported plants from around the
world to create his famous garden. From the river you have a nice view of the Aga Khan Mausoleum, an elegant pink granite structure built in
the late 1950's.
Return to your cruise for dinner and overnight in Aswan.
( All Meals Included )
Day Six – Nile Cruise ( Edfu )
After breakfast, take a tour of Aswan High Dam, Egypt's contemporary example of building on a monumental scale. Next, proceed to the
granite quarries which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples. The quarries still hold the
Unfinished Obelisk, possibly intended as a companion to the Lateran Obelisk, originally at Karnak but now in Rome. It would have weighed
over 1,100 tons and would have been the world's largest piece of stone ever handled. Continue by a short motor-boat ride to the Temple of
Philae on the island of Agilka. The temple was dedicated to Isis, sister/wife of Osiris and patroness of the Ptolemaic rule. Return to your cruise
vessel and sail to Kom Ombo.
After lunch on board, visit the Temple of Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creator of the world
The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where, in ancient times, sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank.
Return to your cruise and sail to Edfu.
Dinner and overnight on-board the Nile Cruise.
( All Meals Included )
Day Seven – Nile Cruise ( Luxor )
After breakfast on board, set out by horse-drawn carriage to visit the Temple of Horus, the most perfectly preserved of all the Nile temples.
Dedicated to Horus, the falcon headed god, it was built during the reigns of six Ptolemies. We have a great deal of information about its
construction from relieves on outer areas. It was begun in 237 BC by Ptolemy III Euergetes I and was finished in 57 BC. Most of the work
continued throughout this period with a brief interlude of 20 years while there was unrest during the period of Ptolemy IV and Ptolemy V
Epiphanes.
This is not only the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt, but the second largest after Karnak. It was believed that the temple was built on the
site of the great battle between Horus and Seth. Hence, the current temple was but the last in a long series of temples build on this location.
It is said that the original structure housing a statue of Horus was a grass hut built in prehistoric times. At any rate, there is an earlier and smaller
pylon of Ramesses II which sits in a 90 degree angle to the current building.
Sail to Esna. Then cross the lock and sail to Luxor for dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight on-board the Nile Cruise.
( All Meals Included )
Day Eight – Nile Cruise ( Luxor )
After breakfast onboard, cross to the West Bank of the Nile and visit the wondrous Valley of the Kings, a vast city of the dead where the
magnificent tombs of 62 pharaohs have been discovered. The tombs were carved deep into the desert rock, richly decorated and filled with
treasures for the afterlife of the pharaohs.
Visit several of the tombs. Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
This beautiful monument to the reign of the only female pharaoh rises out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer
limestone cliffs that surround it. On the way back to your Nile cruise, stop at the famed Colossi of Memnon, two 66ft, 1 thousand ton statues of
Amenhotep III. These colossal statures were known by the ancient Greeks to emit haunting voices at dawn. Though damaged by nature and
ancient tourists, the statues are still impressive.
Dinner and overnight on-board the Nile Cruise.
( All Meals Included )
Day Nine – Cairo
Fly back to Cairo. Upon arrival, your Private Egyptologist and your Private Chauffeur will transfer you to Your Five Stars Hotel.
Day tour with your Private guide to the Old Cairo. Visit the Old Coptic Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Continue to the Mohamad Ali
Mosque and the streets of Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Khan el-Khalili, once known as the Turkish bazaar during the Ottoman period, is now usually
just called the 'Khan', and the names of it and the Muski market are often used interchangeably to mean either. Named for the great
Caravansary, the market was built in 1382 by the Emir Djaharks el-Khalili in the heart of the Fatimid City. Together with the al-Muski market to
the west, they comprise one of Cairo's most important shopping areas.
( Breakfast Included )
Day Ten – End of the Tour
You will be transferred to Cairo Airport by your Private Chauffeur for your departure flight.
( Breakfast Included )
Note:
This tour could be fully customized to meet your expectations: For example, you may want to have some additional leisure time on the beautiful
Red Sea, or you may prefer budget hotels ( home-away-from-home type ) or a different program of activities or you rather prefer an all inclusive
package… Whatever your wishes are you'd have always the freedom to choose what is fitting you better in this particular moment of your life.
And always with the same feminine spirit of a tour specifically designed for discerning traveler women.
