Abu Simbel Tour costs 85$ per person including Entrance Fees and Guide )
Transfer to Nile Cruise ship for 4 Days 3 Nights ( Aswan- Luxor )
Check in Cruise and take a tour of Aswan High Dam, Egypt's contemporary example of building on a monumental scale. Next, proceed to the
granite quarries which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples. The quarries still hold the
Unfinished Obelisk, possibly intended as a companion to the Lateran Obelisk, originally at Karnak but now in Rome. It would have weighed
over 1,100 tons and would have been the world's largest piece of stone ever handled
In the afternoon, sail around on a felucca, the traditional Egyptian sail boat, to Kitchner Island (also known as Lord Kitchner's Botanical Garden,
Plant Island, Gizirat al-Nabatat, Plantation Island, or Gizirat al-Bustan). Lord Kitchner moved there after being given the island for his campaigns
in the Sudan. He imported plants from around the world to create his famous garden. From the river you have a nice view of the Aga Khan
Mausoleum, an elegant pink granite structure built in the late 1950's.
Return to your cruise for dinner and overnight in Aswan.
( Lunch & Dinner )
Day Four – Aswan
Sailing to Edfu (Idfu) & Kom -Ombo. Sail from your cruise vessel to Kom Ombo. After lunch on board, visit the Temple of Sobek, the
crocodile-headed god of fertility and creator of the world. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where, in ancient times, sacred crocodiles
basked in the sun on the riverbank. Return to your cruise and sail to Edfu. The Temple of Horus at Edfu: This is not only the best preserved
ancient temple in Egypt, but the second largest after Karnak. It was believed that the temple was built on the site of the great battle between
Horus and Seth. Hence, the current temple was but the last in a long series of temples build on this location. It is said that the original structure
housing a statue of Horus was a grass hut built in prehistoric times. At any rate, there is an earlier and smaller pylon of Ramesses II which sits
in a 90 degree angle to the current building.
Dinner and overnight on-board the cruise.
( Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner )
Day Five – Nile Cruise ( West Bank )
After breakfast onboard, cross to the West Bank of the Nile and visit the wondrous Valley of the Kings, a vast city of the dead where the
magnificent tombs of 62 pharaohs have been discovered. The tombs were carved deep into the desert rock, richly decorated and filled with
treasures for the afterlife of the pharaohs.
Visit several of the tombs. Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
This beautiful monument to the reign of the only female pharaoh rises out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer
limestone cliffs that surround it. On the way back to your Nile cruise, stop at the famed Colossi of Memnon, two 66ft, 1 thousand ton statues of
Amenhotep III. These colossal statures were known by the ancient Greeks to emit haunting voices at dawn. Though damaged by nature and
ancient tourists, the statues are still impressive. Overnight on-board the cruise.
( Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner )
Day Six – Nile Cruise ( East Bank ) - Kharga Oases
After breakfast disembark from the ship and sail to the East Bank to Luxor and visit Karnak Temple, called by some "the Temple of Temples." It
is the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name Ipet-isut means "the most sacred of places."
The temple, or, more correctly, the complex of temples, was built over more than two thousand years by generation after generation of
pharaohs. Within the complex, the great "Hypostyle Hall" is an incredible forest of giant pillars covering an area larger than the whole of Notre
Dame Cathedral. Proceed to the graceful Temple of Luxor built by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the
god Amun. Check out from the Nile Cruise. Then, join a convoy and set out for a drive across the desert to start your desert Safari at Kharga
Oases.
( Breakfast )
Day Seven – Kharga / White Desert
Visit the temple of Hibis and the Monuments of Kharga then drive through the white desert to Wadi Gazal. Kharga used to be the last but one
stop on The Forty Days Road, the infamous slave-trade route between North Africa and the tropical south. Today, it is the biggest New Valley
oasis and its modern city houses 60,000 people, including 1,000 Nubians who moved here after the creation of lake Nasser. Outside the main
center is the Temple of Hibis, built on the site of an 18th dynasty settlement of Saites, Persians and Ptolemies. One of the few Persian
monuments in Egypt, the 6th century BC temple is well-preserved with painted vultures and huge reliefs of Darius greeting Egyptian gods on
the outer walls. Ten kilometers away, the Necropolis of al-Bagawat contains 263 mud-brick chapels with Coptic murals, including the Chapel of
Peace with images of Adam and Eve and the Ark on its dome and the Chapel of the Exodus with frescoes of pharaonic troops pursuing the
Jews led by Moses, out of Egypt. Pharaonic monuments include the al-Hhuwaytah Temple which dates from 522 BC and the Temple of
Amenebis.
At Sunset in the White Desert explore the wind carved sculptors that resemble human and animal faces. The richness and variety of Egyptian
landscape is endless. At least if you ever decide to visit the White Desert, that's the message you'll get. It is a vast stretch of land in the
Western Desert that borders Bahareya Oasis to the north and Al-Farafra to the south.
The snow-white desert is actually made of chalk that has been exposed for years to what geologists call "differential weathering," the erosion of
soft particles that results in eerie protrusions of hard rock.
This explains the very beautiful forms that now fill the White Desert including shapes like domes, minarets, castles, towers and so forth.
Overnight at desert Camp
( Breakfast & Dinner )
Day Eight – Gebel Aswad / Bahareya
Visit Gebel Aswad ( the imposing black volcanic rock mountain ) and the small Bedouin village of Alheiz . Many people have said that the
mountain looks like a castle as "the black mountain" gives the impression of being watch towers. Visit the ruins of the Oldest Church in the
western Oases dating to the 1st Century.
Drive to Bahareya and Overnight
( Breakfast & Dinner )
Day Nine – Bahareya / Cairo
Arrive Bahareya and visit the temple of Alexander the great, tombs of the nobles and the English mountain. Enjoy bathing in the hot waters of
the spring. The temple of Alexander the Great located in the Bahareya Oasis has the distinction of being the Macedonian ruler's only known
temple in Egypt. The temple was built during Alexander's lifetime and dedicated to Amun and Horus.
Drive to Cairo after breakfast
Arrival Cairo , check in Hotel and overnight
