Coasteering Adventure Day Summary What is Coasteering Basically you traverse the coast by climbing and swimming sometimes jumping from the rocks. The scenery is spectacular and with your wet suit and life jacket on you are snug and safe. This Coasteering experience has been filmed for just about every holiday and adventure programme on the BBC, ITV and HTV and is featured in many national newspapers every year. Action! Adrenalin and fun! What more could you ask for in this jam-packed experience! In this activity filled day you will start with Coasteering and then you will begin one of the three wild experiences that you chose upon booking such as Kayaking, Rock Climbing and Surfing during the second half of this fun packed day! Get ready to get wet n’ wild! Itinerary of Day On arrival for your Coasteering adventure you will be met by your guide, given a safety briefing and told which route you will be taken on. Time for action then - getting issued with your coasteering kit – a full 'steamer' wetsuit (whatever time of year), TYF buoyancy aid and crash helmet come as standard. Depending on the weather and water conditions, your guide will choose a route that provides a surprise at every corner: a low level rock traverse above deep water, a low tide cave to explore, a jumping spot...you'll also take time out to look at some of the local marine wild life. After two hours in, you’ll head back up the cliffs to the coastal path for a short walk back to the start. Then after getting dry, enjoying a drink and snack you will start the second activity of your day whether surfing, kayaking or rock climbing. Important Information The day consists of 2 half day activities; Coasteering and Surfing or Kayaking or Climbing, with an hour’s break for lunch which is included. Participants need to be reasonable active and comfortable in the water for water based activities. This experience requires that participants are eight years old and above. Availability Coasteering Adventure Days are held every weekend, bank holiday, half term and every day in Summer. Weather Conditions Some of these adventures are weather dependant and changes in the itinerary may need to be made during the day. Experience Length Your Coasteering Adventure day will start at 9am and finish at 5pm. Other Attendees If you are doing this adventure on your own you will be booked into a group of people your age and with similar abilities. Spectators Generally some of the activity can be viewed from the cliff tops or beach. Clothing All specialist equipment is provided by the venue for all activities. People participating in watersports will need to bring swimwear and a towel, trainers that can get wet and if they are coasteering they will also need to bring some old tracksuit bottoms or shorts to wear over their wetsuit. Climbers need to wear loose clothes suitable for the weather conditions of the day (hat and sunscreen if its good and some extra warm layers if its cold) and wear trainers or lightweight walking boots to climb in.
